Why are alkaline foods important?

The essence of alkalization is the neutralization of the acidic medium, on the one hand, and the selection of nutrients appropriate to the time of day (this is important because it is worth eating foods that our body is best able to process during the day).

However, before we go any further, it is very important to pause and clarify a few basic things for a moment, because there have been many (not infrequently damaging) misconceptions on the subject in recent years, which can hurt ourselves more than we use.

It is very important to know exactly what to do before starting any "magic", for which we do not recommend this, but yes, to seek advice from a dietician, doctor! The importance of this cannot be emphasized enough.

The fact is that the majority of fashionable whores promising a quick and spectacular solution are in the best case stupid, in worse cases, it is badly harmful to health.
The body's acidity (acidity or alkalinity) is only one parameter among many, a kind of signal, such as body temperature or blood sugar. Smaller or larger fluctuations occur in each case, and there is a problem when they are permanently and significantly different from normal values.

The basic problem is that our modern diet (including the period since the Second World War) is too saturated with animal protein compared to the past. While in the case of an average household of 100-150 years ago, meat consumption was not part of everyday life, today in the Western culture it is harder to eat meat - or what we believe - that to get.

The fleshy and milky diets infuse the body with sulfur-containing amino acids, resulting in the digestion of glucose, uric acid, and sulfuric acid. In English, much of the meat is burdened by our body, so we should eat more alkaline vegetables and fruits.
What seems simple (we can choose from each store), but because of mass production and pollution, most of the alkaline vegetables and alkaline fruits available in the store contain only a fraction of the necessary materials.

It should also be noted that sports are also acidic, as lactic acid is produced in the muscles. That's why they deal with good nutrition in the case of professional athletes because the body can perform best when it is most balanced.

Alkalizing diet in the morning

I have already indicated what we eat at a given stage of the day, because our body processes different foods differently in the morning, during the day and in the evening.
In the morning, for example, it is worth not to use the proteins, because the body is not able to digest them properly. Instead, the fruit turkey or the fresh fruit is recommended.

Alkalizing diet at noon

In the middle of the day, there is a need for some energy replenishment, where vegetables and legumes can come in (we'll describe it a little further in more detail), if possible bypassing the meat except chicken and fish.

Alkalizing diet in the evening

In the afternoon, you should not consume raw vegetables and fruits as much as possible because of the fibers, so that whole-grain pastries or muesli can come.

Stay in the evening with light meals, be it steamed vegetables, or natural yogurt, because the body will be able to process this food most effectively in the morning.

List of alkalizing foods

The list of alkaline foods is quite long, and we have chosen a couple of the best ones, the most popular ones. Obviously, in this case too much depends on our body, our health. Anyone who has reflux reacts differently from someone who does not have reflux, but the list of the following alkaline foods may be good:

lemon - an excellent source of vitamin C at the same time, it also makes it very alkaline, because it has low sugar content. Before eating, you may want to consume a little.

grape - has an intense alkaline effect and high glucose content (it is not accidental to consume glucose if you have a sudden energy bomb, but it is also true if the alkali is quickly the target)
raisins - the grapes are even better in dried form, full of vitamins, folic acid, potassium, phosphorus and more.

banana - a lot of potassium in it, so it helps muscles and the nervous system besides alkalizing. There's a lot of fiber and vitamin C in it.

apple - cellulose in the shell, pectin in its meat

melon - besides alkalizing, it has an excellent effect on the cardiovascular system beetroot - one of the best alkalines, it also reduces cholesterol, and the potassium contained in it helps the body's performance.

cucumber - the cucumber is very alkaline, it also contains potassium.

Potato - Vitamins, Minerals, Vegetable Proteins are a real storehouse of potatoes, basic food.

Broccoli - According to recent research, it is a long-term alkaline and, as such, completely unique (full of calcium, aids in bone formation, digestion).

spinach - the oxalic acid contained in it stimulates digestion, folic acid is the hematopoietic, vitamin B supports metabolic processes, and vitamin K is thankful for kidneys and bones.

Acid foods

It is important to clarify that acidification of a particular food will not be harmful or necessarily avoided. So far, it has been largely about food, but it should not be forgotten that drinks are at least as important for the acid-base balance. Let's see some of the alkalizing drinks now!

mineral water - it is important not to drink mineral water because it is acidic. The hydrogen carbonate content of water should be at least 600 mg / l. However, the sulfate content should be as low as possible (under 240 mg / l).

fruit and vegetable juices - drink 100% juice of freshly squeezed or non-concentrate, diluted with non-carbonated mineral water, thus reducing the high nutrient content and the amount of ingested sugar in the body.

Considering the above, it is worth creating our diet just because alkaline foods help not only to preserve health but also to achieve better sports performance.
